Julie Swan

JULIE SWAN embodies design, individualism, self-expression and appreciation for the finer things on a day-to-day basis. A fresh and personal approach is reflected in her beautifully elegant designs of the Jewels Collection of greeting gift cards, gift cards, wrap and bags. This stylish range of gift paper products excites the senses both visually and texturally through the fusion of classicism and modern imagery styles offset by neutral tones and woven linen-finished paper stocks.

At the age of 16, unsure of where her future would take her, Julie entered the graphic arts industry with a boutique typesetting firm based in North Sydney. Guided by her passion for design, composition and conceptual layout, Julie devoured the four years of study at Ultimo Graphics Arts College, receiving the award for Apprentice of the Year in Composition as well as the Graphic Art Services Award for Outstanding Design in 1991.

When briefed by Tony Grieve, Managing Director of Smiles Card Company based on the NSW Central Coast to create a fresh, stylish product everyone could afford, the Jewels CollectionTM was born. This opulent range of gift cards, gift tags, gift wrap and gift bags are Julie’s latest creative success, bringing a stylish and unique look to the market sought out by boutique and upmarket retailers both nationally and internationally.

Jewels is inspired by current trends in homewares, wallpaper prints, soft furnishing and fabrics, resulting in gift wrap, cards and bags that can be mixed and matched for a more personalised look.

Voted number one in the Greeting and Gift Magazine spring 2011, the Jewels CollectionTM went on to secure the Silver medal for Card of the Year December 2011.

Davilyn Lynch

Davilyn was born and raised in Melbourne where she would spend most days drawing, escaping into a world of creativity and wonder. She grew up in an inspiring household surrounded by her father’s abstract canvases.

Although she loved drawing as a child, It wasn’t until her first child came along that she rediscovered her love of drawing again and decided to make it a part of her life once more.

Davilyn now lives in Tasmania with her husband and four-year-old son. She has illustrated several children’s picture books and is very excited to launch her new range of greeting cards.

Laura Staniford

Bridget Acreman

Bridget is an Illustrator and motion designer from the Central Coast NSW Australia. She adores everything to do with illustration, especially children’s illustration and surface design. She enjoys making bright and fun digital illustrations using a number of organic textures to create a tactile and playful feel. She loves it when her work can make people smile.

She studied animation and visual effects and has an extensive background in broadcast design creating compelling graphics for news and current affairs.

She has illustrated a number of children’s books and loves designing greeting cards and paper products for her stationery brand Stray Leaves.

Debbie Edwards

Debbie has been illustrating for the greeting card, textile, gift wrap, craft, stationery and wall art industry for 10 years. Every day she looks forward to her morning coffee and drawing in Procreate, though she also enjoys using traditional acrylic, watercolour and gouache media. Debbie has numerous inspirations from Japanese paper to Middle Eastern patterns and is constantly inspired by the Australian nature around her, which began on the Angora Goat farm in Australia, where she grew up with a menagerie of animals.

Debbie is also inspired by her amazing adventures around the world and living in London for 6 years, which she used as a base to travel to 35 countries. Some of her travels include hot air ballooning in Cappadocia, watching orphaned elephants play in Kenya, exploring Moroccan souks, skidooing in Norway, visiting Santa’s official North Pole residence in Finland, sailing on a period pirate ship in Madeira and climbing Mt Sinai. In 2019, Deb became a born again Christian and has just completed writing her testimony which she illustrated and has called Seeds for Life.

Eventually coming back to Australia, Debbie could appreciate with fresh eyes the amazing flora and fauna from the delicate buds of the wattle to the beautiful blooms of the Callistemon, to the happy cockatoos in the garden, giving her the inspiration for the Rosella Range which Koala has so wonderfully produced. I truly appreciate and would like to thank the amazing Koala cards for championing and supporting local artists like myself.
